Happy Wednesday Y'all!
This week's Gen-Z Phrase of the Week:
|
Definition:
Describes something that occupies your thoughts often
|
Context:
The phrase "My Roman Empire" refers to a September 2023
TikTok trend where women would ask their husbands / boyfriends how often they thought
about the Roman Empire, revealing that many men pondered about it surprisingly
regularly.
|
The trend quickly evolved across TikTok and X, with people
using the phrase "this is my Roman Empire" for things that they think about often
(ranging from describing life-altering moments or people, venting about past
relationship issues, or sharing memorable scenes from movies or TV shows).

Fun
Fact:
Life didn't give us lemons⦠we gave life lemons!
Lemons are not a naturally occurring fruit, but a hybrid
of citrons and bitter oranges that evolved through plant breeding over many centuries.
Lemons were likely introduced into southern Italy in 200 A.D during the time of
Ancient Rome, and further cultivated in Iraq and Egypt by 700 A.D. In fact, all
the oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits you've ever eaten are descendants from
just 4 ancient species (pomelo, citron, mandarin, & papeda).
